Snežnik Castle … Slovenia
In the embrace of vast Notranjska forests lies the attractive Snežnik Castle, named after the mountain of the same name in its immediate vicinity. Recently, the castle has been completely restored and now shines in all its beauty. Snežnik Castle stands on the edge of the karst Loka Valley, far from the roads. And once important roads from the interior of the country to the sea passed here. As a fortress of the Aquileian patriarchs, it was built in the 11th century. And it got a magical, almost fairy-tale look in the 16th century, when it was owned by the Lamberg family.
I’ve always heard that Slovenia castles. That they look like they come straight out of a fairy tale. So nice that this castle is real and not imaginary.
