Serbian – Celtic tombstones

Some time ago, Citizens of the city of Nish (eastern Serbia) published photographs showing old Serbian cemeteries with very interesting solar symbols. The most similar symbols with which they can be connected are some 2500 km northwest of Scotland and Ireland .

Interesting is the claim that similar monuments, in Scotland and Ireland, can not be found anywhere else on the planet except possibly in the United States due to immigration over the last two centuries. However, this is evidence that in the distant past there was a connection between the Serbs and the Celts.

    • When the Slavs came to the Balkans, they met with the Celts. The Celts came to the Balkans in the 4th century BC. In their conquest, they crossed Pannonia and the Danube, they went towards Macedonia. They suffered defeat and were crushed. They were dominant until the arrival of the Slovenes, with whom they fought for domination.Slovenes prevailed, and the Celts retreated. However, some of their customs were accepted by the Slavs. So now we have exactly the same gravestones. This is unique for the Serbs and the Celts only.

    • The Celts are founders of Singidunum (today’s Belgrade) and Kapedunum (today’s Uzice). In Serbia, there are several groups playing original Celtic music. There are also dance groups fostering Celtic folk dance with elements of tep dens. Dance group “Celtic Rhytm” is one of them.
