On this day in 1933 in New Jersey was born novelist Philip Roth. He studied English language and literature, and taught at several American universities. For his first book, “Goodbye, Columbus” won in 1960 one of the greatest American literary awards, a National Book Award, whose laureate was once again in 1995. In addition to its rich prose work, is also known for having contributed to the promotion of Eastern European writers in the West. His novels are provakativna survey of American and Jewish identity. Among the writers who have influenced Rotovo work stands out the influence of Franz Kafka, who appears as the hero of several of his works.
