Park Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic in Belgrade.

Robin Biznis June 13.2019 Belgrade, Serbia

Today I walked through the park of Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic in the center of Belgrade. There are three monuments to the giants of literacy.Monument to Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic, Monument to the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin and creators of Slovene literacy to the brothers Cirilo and Metodije.Today I write a article about them.Cirilo and Metodije  were two brothers of a total of seven brothers born in Salonica , Greece. They were of Greek descent to their father and their mother was of Slovene descent.

The monument was written naturally by the Cyrillic script “The Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius”

I am writing here the name of the Methodije  in the original because I am not satisfied with the translation into English.

According to the current criteria, there were polyglots and literate people who knew different languages to speak. For Slovene nations, so for Serbia they were of great importance because they taught the illiterate population to read and write.Cirilo and died in Rome, and on his concrete grave stands the letter of thanks  all the Slovenian people for all that he has contributed to their literacy.Unfortunately, only Serbia is not on that list. Until today, the Serbian Church authorities have not spoken on this issue. After the death of Cyril and Metodije  in the Slovene Peoples their work was continued by their students Kliment and Naum. The two of them wrote a letter called the Cyrillic script, which we still use today for the radical changes carried out by Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic.

About him in the next article.
