What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to the human soul. The philosopher , the saint , the hero, the wise and the good and the great, very often lie hidden and concealed in a plebeian, which a proper education disinters and brings to light . What then we should aim is to teach how to think than what to think and improve upon minds so as to enable the students to think on their own rather than loading the memory with thoughts of other men.
Education begins with life. Before we are aware, the foundations of character are laid. Therefore subsequent teaching in schools must comprise holding passions and prejudices and evil tendencies. It must build upon an upright and reasoning will. The whole object of education is or should be to develop healthy mind. The purely intellectual aim of education should be the endeavor to make them see and imagine the world in an objective manner.
Educational institutions should become more and more purely institutions for educating children to see and imagine the world in an objective manner. They should aim towards a conscious, methodical application of the best means in the wisdom of the ages to the end that the youth may know how to live completely.
