The British daily newspaper “Guardian” has published a list of 10 best jazz festivals in Europe on its own website,  which includes the Nis Jazz Festival. Gardijan says that “Niš, as the third city in Serbia, certainly has its own specific charm: Most programs are held within the Fortress on huge green areas surrounded by walls and gates from the Ottoman era.”

The most famous jazz magazine in the world, the American “Downbeat” evaluated Nišville as a festival which, in the best possible way, simultaneously promoted jazz as a direction originating on the American continent, the musical tradition of the Balkans, and especially the combination of these two styles, contributed to the presentation of Balkan music as a new world trend.
