Night of the museum(Belgrade)

The night of the museum is a unique cultural spectacle in more than 120 cities around the world, including Belgrade since 2005. The First Night of the Museum, held in five Belgrade museums and galleries, managed to gather more than 4,000 visitors. After fourteen years, this number has risen to an incredible 500,000 entries in museums in almost 200 locations in more than 60 cities and towns throughout Serbia.

The program’s theme of this year’s Museum Night is entitled “Victories and Winners”. This year the whole world marks the end of World War I. As with any conflict, somebody ultimately produced the epithet of the winner, and some of the losers.We belong to those who came out of the Great War as winners, but that will not be (the only) victory that will celebrate the 15th Night of the Museum. This year will mark some personal, intimate and humane victories, such as overcoming oneself – victory in life, art, enlightenment, culture, science, in everything that makes the world more content, more important and more valuable.

At the European Museum Night last year, more than 3,000 museums participated in 30 countries.
