One the biggest and most spectacular ancient monuments in Asia (Myanmar, formerly Burma) is a beautiful pagoda named Kakku. It contains more than 2,000 columns for centuries built at this location. Legend has it that the first stupa made Alaungsithum king who ruled in the 12th century Bagan region. Decorative sculptures and paintings dating from the 17th or 18th century, but some of the objects were clearly much older.
