Words have an odd way of healing. They seem to just show up, not immediately, but as I ponder often times the answer comes in unexpected ways. The quote to the right made my soul sing today (and perhaps I was even singing in key.)
It helped me to realize that someone who was making an assessment of character, was really speaking about my shadow. (Read the quote again and allow it to sink in.)
Your reputation can be smeared in a second and drug through the mud. Your character, not so much. It is your true north and who you are. People who know your heart know your character. Does that make you perfect, no but it sets your course. Will you take departures from your course, certainly and your character will bring you safely back to who you “are”.
So not only have I healed from the nasty comments. It made me a better stronger person. My shadow not so happy, but shadows change with all day long and get a rest at night. It’s the way that sunlight and perceptions change. Shadows should not be my guiding force.
I do so love it when I learn something that will change my world.
