Lawrence-Kedzie Storage Ghost Sign (2018-09-10 09-01-54a)
Lawrence-Kedzie Storage was located at 3215 West Lawrence Avenus in Chicago (Albany Park), Illinois. It closed down permanently on 15 May 2018 after over 35 years in business. The sign is located on the east wall of the building.
In October 1996 Chicago was divided between two area codes. Since the sign does not specify which area code to use, the sign must pre-date then. Since the business started a few years before 1983, it must be after that time. Based on the wear I would guess that it was done around 1980, +/- a couple of years.
The photo was taken using a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera. I used ACDSee Ultimate 2019 to edit. I straightened the image a bit and corrected the perspective which resulted in the image being cropped a bit. I boosted the contrast a little and adjusted the white balance.

Thanks, but taking the photo wasn’t that hard. When I’m driving I keep my camera handy and give a good look around whenever I’m stopped at a light.
