Kokoshnik - giclee print

This isn’t part of my cold war series, partially due to the fact that a kokoshnik is a traditional headdress which has no soviet connotations but mostly because it isn’t furry. Have no fear, I am going to do a furry headdress once I solve a few issues with that technique. Please look forward to it!

#1 release version

This piece is quite minimalist on many different levels, my favorite part is how she seems to be emerging from the dark background. It doesn't really need anything else so I decided to stick with a less is more philosophy...

  I have reached a point where I rarely even bother to plan things beforehand, I just try and have good reference and work it out as I go along. As long as I keep getting results like this, no need to change my MO at all…

  the clay render isn’t meant to be a standalone piece, it is simply a test render to determine lighting…

I like the rough sketch a a lot. I think if her eyes were a little less closed it would look better. What do I know lol?

    You see, your main advantage is to draw a human figure, so the other special distinctive that must be found next on your works must lie in the theme, character and style.
