Katarina Ivanović (1811-1882

Katarina Ivanović (1811-1882), the first Serbian painter. She painted portraits, still lifes, historical compositions. Some of her paintings are among the best examples of Serbian classicism, such as “Portrait of Princess Persida Karađorđević”, “Self-portrait”, “Buckets with grapes” … His paintings bequeathed to the National Museum in Belgrade. 1876 was elected the first honorary member of the Serbian Learned Society (today SANU). She painted 38 pictures.
