Inside of Myself – 7

On the day of my wedding, dressed and prepared, I imagined it was Maxie I was marrying.  Just thinking about it had me blushing and smiling, glowing and happy.

I kept up the fantasy until I entered the room, and there, standing by the altar was Bob.

I wanted to turn and run.  I didn’t.   I continued to walk, carefully, more interested in my presentation than the reality.

More concerned about my enunciation then the words I said.  I didn’t glance at the pews, for I knew Maxie was there.  And if I saw him, I don’t know if I could continue.

So, we said our ‘I Dos’ and there it was.

I had married Bob.
