Harvest Moon (haiga)

old ghosts / and new / each looking for / their pound of flesh / —harvest moon

The harvest moon is the full moon that falls closest to the autumn equinox. In the northern hemisphere, that was last night’s moon. For the last eight years the harvest moon has occurred in September, but this year it is October, drawing us deeper into the darker days, and longer nights, of autumn.
