One of the realities is that some people don’t appreciate the difference between American English and British English. Colour not Color, Labour not Labor.
A person trained under the British system writes and is attacked by some American;
“What is with you with all that ‘U’ business?”
The ignorance of persons assumed to ‘know better’ is legend. This is because the attitude of some nationalities is such that they believe they are the font of all wisdom and everyone else comes second.
The sense of superiority can be found in a number of nationalities and it makes discussions difficult.
Many play the egalitarian, but as soon as you encounter them, you’ll quickly learn that they believe, with every atom, that you are inferior.
