Everywhere is Here – No – 8

Before the Internet existed one could accept the fact that many people in one country might  know nothing about another.  They may not know where that country is, what life is like there.

Meeting someone from that country would take them by surprise.

In ancient days not knowing anything about people in another country did not herald a raw ignorance but simply a lack of information.

Now that the Internet exists and users log on from  Lebanon, Belize or Burkino Faso, one can quickly do a search and get background so as not to be completely ignorant.

But most people don’t.

They know nothing and are content knowing nothing.
