Birch Bark Canoes at the Canadian Canoe Museum

When walking about in the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Canada I expected to see a lot about the famous Canadian Birchbark Canoe. Here in one area were many of them. They were famous for use by the indigenous peoples there and by French Voyageurs who used tremendously large ones to transport a thousand pounds of goods like pelts for the Hudson Bay Company across the wilds of Canada.
