After Abuse – 130

One of the most vital aspects of analysing abuse is that you will be able to see others who are being abused and be able to save someone from horrific consequences.

Abusers have patterns.  They aren’t ‘different’ .

Perhaps you recall someone warning you and you saying, “No, this is different!”  when it was the same.

You have to learn how to see it, how to alert the potential victim is such a by the way manner than they don’t instantly ‘defend’.

For example,  you’re sitting with a victim and start to tell this ‘funny’ story about how your husband hated you to smoke and you stopped smoking, but he didn’t realise it and went to slap you…

do it as if it is funny and the victim will see something in her own life that matches.
