He had been with Lorna since High School, through the summer, now into University.

He owned her, or so he thought, until she told him about the abortion.

He went to strike her, she screamed, her mother burst in with a cricket bat and was not joking.

She told Simon to get out, never return or she would fix his face or call the police, whatever would be the most painful.

Lorna ran to her mother, and he had no doubt that all his secrets, all their private moments had been relayed and discussed, and exposed.

He marched out as a soldier going to another battle and did not look back.

Lorna would never find a man as perfect as he, and he wanted to rub her nose into it.
