Too Late – Mellisa – 4 (end)

It was a busy Friday when everything was going wrong when a customer came to speak with her.

“I can’t talk now!”  Mellisa snapped, moving to deal with an issue.

The Customer walked out.

Mellisa didn’t think anything of it until one of the Managers called her later in the day.

“We got a complaint about you…”

Mellisa thought it was a joke, smiled.

“You were very rude to a customer this morning.”

“When?” Mellisa asked, for she had no memory of it.

“This morning a woman came to you, you said you ‘couldn’t talk now…”

“Oh well…”

“The Woman was from the Consumer Affairs Commission and was going to advise you that there were no prices on the coconut oil.”

Mellisa held a moment.

“We now have received a summons as having no listed price is an offense.   We will probably be fined.”

“Oh, I’m sorry, you see…”

“So are we.  This is your two week pay in lieu of notice.”

It was far too late for Mellisa to make apologies, explain or go back.
