Too Late – Akona (2)

Akona’s mother, Sarah, had gone through hard times.  Too many to list.  She had thought and still thinks, that leaving Akona with her mother was the wisest move.

During the early years when Sarah struggled, Zinzi told her not to worry, Akona would be fine.

When Sarah could take Akona, when she had a job, a house, a new husband and baby, Akona refused to leave Zinzi.

Although there were visits, Akona rejected her mother.   Eventually Sarah stopped bothering.

Sarah had a life,  strong and good.

Akona made it clear to all and sundry that Zinzi was her mother, she loved Zinzi, she would never leave Zinzi.

Sarah accepted that Akona would never see her as a mother, and moved on.
