Infants were to be brought to childhood quickly. There was a set method.
By three months, for example, a child would be eating baby food and being toilet trained.
By the age of one year, children were eating from the family pot, and not wearing diapers. Many reached these milestones before nine months.
No child entered kindergarten at the age of Five who wore a diaper, or couldn’t feed themselves.
Wearing dog tags to school, children knew that their country was ‘counting on them’ and they did their best.
To be a ‘baby’, crying when you were hit or fell, or to fail, was not just letting down themselves and their parents, but the country.
There is a lot of truth here unfortunately.
I was shocked to realise that what is being taught in 10th grade today was taught in 6th. That kids are not toilet trained. No one bothers to discipline them.
