Sunday's Drive

I work on the weekends and was on my way to work yesterday and couldn’t quit snapping pictures of the clouds.. Perfect day for Sky Sunday, the problem is, is that these are now a day late. No problem, since Virily has to moderate most posts, it’s okay to be late here. Do you agree?

Anyhow…Join me on my ride to work?

#1 Entering I15 southbound to San Diego

I live on the coast. This freeway system is 10 miles inland from the beach. When I left I couldn't see a cloud in the sky.

We have mountains to the east, the beach to the west. Those clouds were doing their best to make it to the coast, but with the trade winds they could not make it. The coast is clear!

The clouds were very low. It looked as if you could reach up and touch them. I was having problems getting my camera to not over expose the white parts of the clouds. So I turned it down for the next ones.

But not as bad...

The over exposed areas are better.

This is a roll cloud. It was about twice as long as shown here.

I just love them. Did you ever lay down and just watch the sky as a child? I used to love doing that with my dad. We would lay down and try to pick out animal shapes.

This cloud ahead actually poured on me. Big giant drops of rain! Time to put away the camera.

I hope you enjoyed Sky Sunday's clouds.

  LA is pretty much the same. Went by there earlier in the year, coming back from Redding. It was 3 am and took 2 hours to pass it. 2 hours at 3 am? It was bumper to bumper 5 mph traveling. It gets bad here as well during rush hour on the weekdays. This was at 8 am on Sunday. And they just got several car pool lanes opened from San Diego to Temecula, which really eases the traffic. I5 is still bad.

    On Saturdays we like to get out and away from DC. if we go north, we get traffic and then around Frederick it opens up clear sailing.
    
    if we go east it is bumper to bumper.
    
    Due to the repairs average time to cross the bay bridge is 90 minutes one way now.

      DC has the worst traffic ever I think. I used to live in Myersville and work in Frederick. We only went to DC for fun stuff!

Great photos. Did you notice what you have in photo #5? The way you took the photo one of the clouds in front looks like a ghost with eyes and a mouth.

I also got out and had about the same view but without the rain. We will get rain tonight and the next two days. Love the sky views.
