After her bath Shirley dressed and went out to jog and see life. Life as she had before she had married.
See life full of possibilities.
She was only twenty three, not ready to move into middle age with everything set. She wanted excitement, new experiences, and to taste life as if it were an ice cream cone.
She bubbled with happiness, the smile on her face real and she phoned her job, asking to come back.
They admitted they had filled her local position, thinking she would not be returning. Shirley’s heart ceased to beat, but they admitted an opening, for the same position, in another city.
At first she wanted to cry, but then realised, it was an open door.
