When Kushi spoke with her friends they all found her husband Paul as repulsive as she did. He was disrespectful to his parents, and deserved what he reaped.
Many of Kushi’s friends often commented on the wedding of Paul and Kushi; how Paul had no one there from his side of the family.
This was impossible in their culture.
What always shocked them was when Kushi’s brother, Paul’s ‘best friend’ , would regale them with the sinful and horrible things Paul said about his father and mother.
Some wondered how it was that Paul’s tongue didn’t rot in his mouth.
All felt that he must be kept away from Priya so as not to taint her.
