Kushi made the decision to get pregnant.   If Paul didn’t marry her,  fine. She’d leave him,  have the baby herein America.  The Baby would be an America.

She could use the child to become legal.

She didn’t say anything to Paul about not using birth control or babies   or  anything.   That wasn’t her way.  She’d just have as much sex with Paul  as  she could and hopefully, nature would comply.

When Kushi became pregnant she acted ecstatic, and said things as if having a child for Paul was the greatest gift to the world.

Paul asked her to marry him.

Kushi felt that she had achieved something great.   She would marry Paul, get herself legal, then get her family legal.

She and her family would be able to stay in America without hassle.
