When you take an Exam you set out what you think the question is saying. By setting out what you think the question is asking, the examiner can judge your comprehension.
In many cases, even if you are wrong, you won’t lose full marks if your comprehension is reasonable.
Hence always begin the answer with a statement of the question.
After stating the question you are answering, give the definitions, the explanations, the authorities Make sure you show the examiner you know what each word means, the concepts, the relevance.
Go through the information, then come down with your conclusion.
Your last paragraph pulls everything together.
In this way, you’ve written something that makes sense, so that even if you misread the question, at least you’ve shown you have the substance.
