Ethan could not just walk away. He believed he and Shauna had ‘something’. What happened?
He rang the bell again and again, and finally the door swung open, and an angry Shauna shouted,
“Go Away and Leave Me Alone! My Grandmother just Died!”
and slammed the door.
Ethan stood a moment.
About forty percent of his mind wanted to excuse her behaviour. But sixty percent felt that she could have told him, as she opened the door the first time;
“Ethan, I’m sorry, I can’t go out with you, my Grandmother just died..” in a soft mournful voice.
Then he would give his condolences and walk away.
But how she had done it…the ice, the anger, something was not right.
