To protect yourself from an Abuser, be it a husband or a boss you have to know the signs.
You have to see them early before excuses are made, before you are in too deep.
Abusers have an inferiority complex. They abuse others because it makes them feel superior for a short time. It has nothing to do with you or your ability or behaviour.
It has everything to do with the psyche of the Abuser.
In a marriage situation, the abuse usually begins with emotional abuse. This is to make the wife cry. To prove that he owns her feelings and can bring her down with a word.
In the office, the abuse is similar. It is insults to make the employee feel incompetent, stupid, lazy, whatever can be used will be used.
The point is; what does the husband/boss get by hurting the feelings of the victim? The sense of power.
