Ken is owned and operated by Gwen. She owns his brain. She controls what he thinks. He would never believe this, assuming the opinions he expresses are his own.
That everyone, from his High School best friend, to those who had considered him brilliant and a great guy have now put him at arm’s length doesn’t register.
Everyone who knew him before he married Gwen can testify to what he was and now what he is.
If Ken was able to simply sit alone and reflect on what his life was, on who he was, and now, what his life is, and who he is now, the Epiphany could not be ignored.
But Ken can’t.
Gwen doesn’t give him much alone time, much ‘me’ space, because she knows that to let him off the leash for a day might result in his freedom.
