Often, victims think they can ‘get back’ at the Abuser. They may waste their time, put themselves at risk, trying to ‘fix’ the Abuser.
Yes, it happens on occasion that the Victim gets the chance to stomp on the Abuser, but this is rare. Rare and almost by the way.
For example, Sandy had escaped Nick. He began to email her and she answered.
After some years he brought up an issue as if he was some expert. Sandy crushed it.
Her response fully exploded all of his fantasies and sense of superiority.
He never wrote again.
This kind of ‘get back’ is not common, and Sandy hadn’t provoked it or expected that one day Nick would raise an issue that she owned.
