Over time, she surrounds him with her friends and family so that he can not go anywhere without her, her mother and brother, and whomever else is in the circle.
This is because the possibility of him slipping the hook is too great to tempt.
Unlike the Abusive husband, who demands everything be his way, the Abusive wife lets everything appear to be her husband’s way.
It is only when she leaves him that he might realise what happened.
