Katherine was unfocused so decided to leave work early; having put in so much overtime it was not a problem.
She had tried to call Marvin during the day. Five calls; five voice mails.
As she passed the front desk, she had a thought. Using the phone there she called Marvin’s number.
He answered.
“Where are you?” She asked.
“Away forever. I’m texting you the name of my lawyer. Call him.”
“Marvin!”
“Kat, I’ve tried to tell you, but it was always ‘later’, well guess what, later is here. Good bye… oh, and don’t call me again.”
Kat stood in shock. How could this have happened?
