Katherine needed to be strong. She needed to take control of her life. She had just begun a new job with extreme responsibility.
Her husband, Marvin, always wanted to ‘discuss’ everything. Things she couldn’t face because they were too painful.
If she could get up, go for her run, return, breakfast and shower, get to work, stay focused, come home, eat and get into bed and sleep, the day was perfect. But Marvin always wanted to ‘discuss’ one of their past griefs, deal with the present obstacles, and face the future.
And she just didn’t have time or would make time for that.
So every time he came up with this ‘Need to Talk” moment, she cut him off and moved on to something else.
