Just for Fun Week 3 - Something Manmade

The votes are in and Kim’s Just for Fun Week 3 challenge’s theme is Something Manmade. For something manmade, I have looked to one of my many loves, architecture! These three photographs were taken in Hanover, Pennsylvania, while I was there visiting my ex-boyfriend. He’s irrelevant, the architecture in Hanover is not! Moving along… 🙂

Celtic Cross Cathedral

This beautiful cathedral is one of many examples of the magnificence of Hanover architecture. I fell in love with the buildings there!

Stained Glass Cathedral

This is the same cathedral as above but at night! I didn't think it could get any prettier. Celtic Crosses and stained glass? Win!

Viny Bricks

As we were strolling along York Road, we stumbled upon several magical photo opps. I thought this viny brick home was AMAZING! And the blue light, a wonderful extra!

While it does make for beautiful landscaping, such vines are the doom of any masonary structure.

It is pretty, I like the light too! Jason’s right, I have heard that you should plant all plants away from the house a bit.

  I’ve seen what vine can do to wood framed houses, but I haven’t had much experience with brick. I guess it’s a matter of if you let it overrun things or not? I will have to research this before I cover my future little hut in the woods with flowering vines as planned…

Thank you so very much, Carol! I love architecture. One of my accolades is having created the blueprint for a school for the blind renovation of an old hat factory in Australia, and they actually used my blueprint! I had never even used AutoCAD before! The cathedral was quite amazing to me. Our churches don’t look like that here!

    Thank you, Carol! <3 🙂 My hope is to be able to take online classes in engineering in the future. I don't know how I winged it. My initial thought, as a complete amateur, was my design would never get picked. I was completely floored when they did 🙂
