.As Mike pulled up in front of her house, Emily was waiting. She got into his car, greeted him with a warm smile.
“I hope you weren’t waiting long…” he said.
“For a moment I thought you weren’t coming…”
“I was…distracted…sorry…”
“About what?”
“Let’s talk about it after the game…”
“After the game we are going to talk about the game.”
“Let us hope we will be talking, not mourning.”
Emily laughed. She had a sweet gentle laugh.
They reached the stadium, got to their seats, and prepared for a great night to top off a successful day.
