Mike might have been the most nervous of the three; for Emily, the budding lawyer and Jordon, the paralegal, exuded confidence.
The case began and went as they had planned. Emily’s presentation before the Court was the perfect mix of confidence and humility. The questions she asked received the answers she expected.
Although the trial would continue, it seemed they had it.
At the end of the day, Mike again thought of asking Emily for dinner, but did not.
On Thursday the case was all but won, and the other side was shaky. Mike was so proud of his team, he wanted to buy them dinner, but chose not to say a word.
On Friday, the judge retired to consider his decision which he would give on Monday.
