International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) did dare to demand respect and regard the 3rd Eye of Democracy and Governances (Media Houses) as on 4th February 2018 in the MALDIVES .The issue raised when a Senior and Experienced Political Leader urged publicly to shutdown TELEVISION Channels Offices and Media Operations in that area.
IFJ(International federation of Journalists ) did condemn the statement of this political leader and appealed to have a minimum integrity for the Media Houses which only can only result a trustworthy Governance to the system.
The IInd Leader in Command Mr. Abdul Raheem Abdullah from the Ruling party Which is Officially known as PROGRESSIVE PARTY OF MALDIVES called on Security Forces to immediately shut down the opposition aligned RAAJJE TV PUBLICLY AT A DESIGNED Press Meet in this regard.
RAAJJE TV’s Concerned Official alleged “A free and independent media is a key aspect of holding the government accountable. Raajje TV views the call by the ruling party to shut down our station as an attempt to clear obstacles for them to conduct their unlawful affairs, as they please. Raajje TV calls on the ruling party to cease their actions in hampering free media, right to information and freedom of expression.”
