Day 62 A Lonely Prairie: Wind and Sun

When was the last time you stopped and felt the warmth of the sun on your skin and truly realized its warmth. It’s something we all need to do, stop long enough to realize the simplest joys that we take for granted.

I’ve been seeing many stories, it’s always the same, a good person is ill and they choose to make their last few months worthwhile. I want to have that same attitude without the diagnosis.

Once you start this process, you start realizing all the obstacles of time and stress that tend to get in the way of enjoying simple things. I even notice when I’m photographing, sometimes you just need to put down the camera and enjoy the moment.

Being present is not a given and the more you realize it and try to change it, the more you realize the difficulty of realizing the warmth of the sun or the sound and character of the wind.

Today I went to a prairie and had a long overdue conversation with God and a moment to listen to nature. It was a good day.

  1. Good for you Steve and thank you for sharing your moment, as well as your feelings. I completely agree with you. We all need to put cameras, phones, everything down and enjoy the moment. Good to see you writing again. You never disappoint my friend.
