Herbert invited a few people to his wedding. Jeff wanted to bring his new boyfriend, Herbert shrugged. He shrugged but felt ecstatic.
This meant that Jeff and Steve were no longer together!
Whether Jeff had the decency to break off a relationship, (which Herbert doubted) or would take pleasure out of springing it on Steve, (which Herbert expected) the end of connection between Judy’s son and his own was blessed.
Although others might find the performance Jeff carried on with his boyfriend before and after the ceremony, repulsive, it did not bother Herbert at all.
It hurt Steve, yes, but that was a good thing.
