Desireen would use her lunch break to begin her homework, and stay after school to finish it. As soon as she got home she had so much housework and had to look after Danny and Clive.
Danny was very wilful and if she slapped him, her parents would beat her.
Being away from the house, in school or church, were the only excuses she could give.
She had joined the church youth group, even got the Pastor to speak to her parents so that they would not stop her from attending the various events.
Because she needed a life.
