Brain Squish – 10

The other day, in the presence of a number of people, I met a chap from India.

I congratulated him on the attempt of his country to land a rover on the moon.

No one in that group knew a thing about it.  No one in that group listens to the news.   They don’t listen on the radio, they don’t watch on T.V. they don’t check online.

A population of people with access to news will use their Internet connection to watch anime and other meaningless rubbish, and never, for one second, check  a news service.

After the Indian chap and I spoke, a friend of mine said, “How did you know that?”

I said, “It was on the news, but I also watched it live online.”

She looked at me as if I’d turned water into wine.

This kind of chosen ignorance is endemic.
