In the morning his folks  spoke about the Party and asked about the girl.

“Her name is Madison, she’s got a great sense of humour,” he said, having decided that’s how he’d answer when asked.

His folks had a good time, met a lot of people, laughed, were very comfortable.

He told them what Madison had said about the functions being mandatory;  they had missed the Halloween and Thanksgiving… they could miss no more.

Later, he went to his room, did his homework, read ahead.  He thought of calling Madison but didn’t.
