The coach dismissed the team, and they went to the locker room to change out of their uniforms.
Barry began to walk home with five other guys, all talking about this and that, and he’d push a word here or there.
As he reached his block there was one guy left who lived another block down.
Barry turned into his gate. He didn’t want the guy to see him use his keys, know his parents weren’t home. The possibilities ran the gauntlet and because he was so focused on the now, he stopped walking as he entered his gate. He put down his bag, began to tie his shoe.
When he reached for the bag he saw the guy had gone, so stood, went to his house, unlocked the door, in, relock, and upstairs to take a shower and start his homework.
