Ann South had taken the complaint that ‘she was never there’   somewhat seriously.   She would open the back door and be  obviously there, (while she did  her real estate work on the phone, bill paid by he Board), and being out in the yard, gardening.

She set times to be off property, not every day and not more than three hours, sometime after ten in the morning.  She went out each evening around seven.  

She assumed when she was out, the tenants could ‘smuggle’ a man into their room ‘behind her back’.   They could walk around naked if they choose.

She was living her life.
