An Example – part 4

Having gone to school with him, we felt a kind of unity so decided to have a watch night for the new series he was appearing in.

We passed remarks, but they weren’t bad natured, and considered he did pretty well and that his character was interesting.

I told them about his blog.

They read it, and noticed the same things I did.

The groupie thing, yeah, but that the  posts he made were the kind of egotistical pompous blather he effected in High School. The same kind of semi-misuse of words, and unnecessary verbiage that made the kids ridicule him.

He’d always had an inflated image of himself. Now, with the show, with his appearance, the groupies, his ego was gorged. He now had a platform and hungry followers.

I didn’t expect it to turn out well, for I knew him.
