After Abuse – 8

When Sandy left Nick it was very hard to live.   She found herself thinking of him all the time.  She implemented a distraction; she would look at a tree, focus on the tree, see nothing, think nothing but the tree until she felt ‘normal’.

When she tried to analyse at home, she became very nervous and upset and gained control by letting her eyes go around the room and name everything she saw.

Often, after going around three times she would race out, and stand outside of her flat, regardless of the time or weather.

Eventually, as she thought of Nick, when she was at work, her eyes instantly went to the tree. The time she looked at the tree began to drop to seconds.

Eventually, when she did an analysis, more and more time passed before she became nervous.
