Had Ann analysed her relationship with Bob she would realise that he pretended jealousy to give him an excuse to beat her. But Ann had not and took any hint of jealousy as the first step to a beating.
Ann destroyed her relationship with Don because of this confusion. Had she analysed Bob’s game, she would realise that jealousy and beating are not connected.
Further, she would not be so sensitive to anything she could label as jealousy to give her an escape card.
A perfectly good relationship with a good man was destroyed by Ann’s misconceptions. Misconceptions she would not have had if she had analysed her relationship with Bob.
