365 Photos Challenge – Day17

I was musing what to feature on my Day-17 photo this morning without really any idea where to get the inspiration for that. I went out of the bedroom wondering what to do when, voila, the opportunity presented itself! I saw lovely Janine sitting there — just being.

I remembered Kim Johnson said that cats normally walk away if you take pictures of them so I put a nice distance and zoomed my phone camera and took a shot. Then I got near just to see if she will run away but dear Janine just stared up at me with her gorgeous eyes. I mean, look at the photos. She did not even change her position! She only moved her eyes! Amazing! If I can have half of her focus then my meditation practice will deepen and grow in leaps and bounds.

And it is only today that I noticed that she has a beautiful and gentle face — the eyes reminded me of the eyes of grandmothers — full of kindness and compassion. I wondered what she is thinking while looking up at me like that…maybe, in her mind, Janine was saying: “Poor, poor, poor hooman…still living in the dark cave, playing the same music, dancing the same dance. When will she ever wake up? Sigh.”

Oh, well. Next lifetime, I will pick a cat’s body to live in then. Oh, and of course, Janine is my Day-17 entry in the fabulous and torturous 365 Photo Challenge.

Looking for a creativity and endurance test? Well, this is the challenge for you! Join in but first read the instructions from the master here.

As always, thanks to @docandersen. It was through Doc’s genius that I am in the middle of searching for endless inspirations for this challenge. Lol!

    • I don’t pay much attention to cats I have to admit hahaha. They are not ours per se. They just came to live in the house and stay and multiply. Plus of course they make a lot of noises especially when dating and if it happens in the middle of the night when you are past asleep, it is simply annoying to say the least. Hahaha. You cannot tell them off like we do with dogs and the dogs will listen. Still cats are useful as it keep away the rodents. So we live and let live. Lol ?

    • Yes! Lol it would be nice to be a cat I agree — and it suits my personality more than a dog coz I am not a people-pleaser hahaha cats are irritatingly so independent and indifferent.

  1. Awe, she is so sweet. You are right in the expression. So kind and gentle. Sunning herself in the window. She is just wondering what you were doing. You can sure see the love in her eyes.
