365 day photo challenge: Day 26 Ducks in Sunset

A sunset can be quite unpredictable, the light is changing and the colors are always different. Last night it was spectacular before the sun fell behind the clouds and after it just got darker. The colors didn’t get richer and instead the display ended prematurely.

Tonight the light went from spectacular to even more spectacular. First the sun hid behind clouds and the golden light made it look like a huge fire in the sky than the colors went from pinks to rich siennas and golds. It was truly an unforgettable sunset.

This sunset, I sat on the edge of the lake watching the ducks. I was able to just take in all the silence and just enjoy it. The ducks seemed a bit more interested in me as well and swam back and forth just outside the range of my telephoto.

In the end, I felt like I captured a moment. The quiet, the colors, it was truly a sense of awe. The ducks were perfect props against the salmon water. Would love to hear your opinions.
